There are few things more enjoyable than watching your favorite heroes fight powerful villains. Shows like My Hero Academia and Jujutsu Kaisen have impressed millions of fans across the world thanks to their exhilarating action sequences, compelling narrative, and characters you'd want to keep rooting for. And with 2025 finally here, there are a lot more action anime coming out to look forward to!
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Movie
After the 4th season of the immensely popular Demon Slayer anime, it was announced that instead of a series, the last arc of the manga will be released as three movies. The first movie, of Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle arc, is set to come out sometime in 2025, although we the exact release date is yet to be revealed. Tanjiro and his friends, along with the remaining Hashira, will face the main antagonist of the series Muzan Kibutsuji, the original demon who wants Nezuko for her ability to walk in sunlight. Spy x Family season 3
If you like a side of sweet family shenanigans with your action, then Spy x Family is the perfect treat for you. The story follows a spy named Twilight, more known for his alias Loid, who builds a fake family, complete with a wife and daughter to complete a mission. Unbeknownst to him, his wife, Yor, is an assassin, and his daughter, Anya, is a psychic. Filled with emotional moments of family bonding and love, this series delivers what it promises - unadulterated fun. The second season of the show introduced the family’s dog Bond, who can see the future. Loid will face more challenges due to the rising tension between the two nations and his own family in the next season, which is coming out in October 2025.
Wind Breaker season 2
After entering Furin High School to fight all the delinquents there and become the top dog, Haruka Sakura realizes that its students have vowed to protect their town from criminals. But when he meets his friendly classmates and doting seniors, Sakura learns to use his strength and skills to protect rather than destroy. The next season will focus on a dangerous group named KEEL, who have kidnapped the friend of one of Sakura’s classmates. You will be able to watch the second season of Crunchyroll when it airs in April 2025.
Dandadan season 2
There’s a reason why Dandadan was one of the most hyped shows of 2024. Not only did the series have ghosts, demons, and aliens, but also two awkward teenagers slowly falling in love while they fight supernatural entities. Filled with moments of absolute hilarity and heartbreaking sorrow, the anime has already made a home in the hearts of people in just 12 episodes. It’s so popular, in fact, that the second season will be released in July 2025, after only 7 months of the first season’s cliffhanger ending. Chainsaw Man: Reze Movie
If bizarre monsters and gory action are more up your alley, then you might want to watch Chainsaw Man, based on Tatsuki Fujimoto’s bestselling horror action manga. The protagonist, Denji, is a destitute boy who shares his body with the Chainsaw Devil, whom he lovingly calls Pochita. The first season of the anime, which came out in 2022, focused on Denji’s journey as a part of the Public Safety Devil Hunters. The upcoming film will animate the Reze arc of the manga series, where the titular character, a pretty girl called Reze, meets Denji and builds a relationship with him. However, Reze's beautiful face hides a sinister secret, a truth that may just destroy Denji completely. The film is coming out sometime in 2025, and fans can watch the first season of the anime on Netflix and Crunchyroll.
Sakamoto Days
A retired top assassin who runs a grocery shop with his wife, Taro Sakamoto wants nothing but to leave his past behind. When assassins turn up at his doorstep to kill him, he beats them up and sends them home. One such assassin is Shin, but unlike the others, the psychic boy is moved by Taro’s story so much that he becomes an employee of his store. Thanks to its unique storyline, Yuto Suzuki’s battle manga has become a fan-favorite over the last few years. It’s understandable why the Sakamoto Days anime is one of the most-awaited titles of 2025. You will be able to watch the show worldwide on Netflix from January 11, 2025.
One-Punch Man season 3
If we’re talking about shows that people have been waiting for, One-Punch Man will be pretty high on the list. The second season of the anime came out in 2019, with virtually no news about a new season for the last four years. Thankfully, it was announced that the show will return in 2025 and continue the Monster Association arc of the manga. After a phenomenal first season in 2015, fans were let down by a lackluster season 2 by J.C. Staff. However, people are hopeful that after such a long break, the anime will return with another entertaining season. Kaiju No. 8 season 2
The anime adaptation of Naoya Matsumoto’s popular monster manga was one of the most followed shows of 2024. His life is turned upside down when a strange Kaiju forces its way into his body one day, giving him the power to turn into the very monstrous beings he wishes to kill. Filled with sensational action and timely comedy, the show easily made its way into the hearts of the audience. The second season is set to air in July 2025.
Solo Leveling season 2: Arise from the Shadow
Based on Chugong’s bestselling series, Solo Leveling is undoubtedly one of the best manhwa-to-anime adaptations out there. The first season came out in January 2024 and revolved around an E-rank hunter named Sung Jinwoo, who gets strange level-up powers after a close brush with death in one of the dungeons. After that, he starts to increase his abilities with the help of the System, which grants him various rewards for fighting powerful enemies. Fans will be able to watch the second season on January 4, 2025, with new episodes coming out every week.
My Hero Academia season 8
My Hero Academia is undoubtedly one of the best anime of the last decade, based on an alternate reality world where everyone has ‘quirks’. The protagonist Izuku Midoriya, however, is one of the very few who doesn't have any powers. After inheriting superpowers from the No. 1 ranked hero All Might, Izuku works hard to become a pro-hero. The latest season of the anime focused on the final battle of the heroes against the villains and had some heartbreaking moments that reduced fans to tears.
