After an 8-year hiatus, xxxHolic: Rei is coming back with a new chapter.
In an official statement to PR Times, Kodansha LTD. has revealed that CLAMP’s xxxHolic: Rei, which went on hiatus in 2017, will resume serialisation in the 21st issue of Young Magazine coming out on April 21, 2025.
xxxHolic: Rei is the sequel to CLAMP’s popular 2003 manga xxxHolic, and was first announced during the CLAMP Fest in Nagoya back in December 2, 20212. The first volume was released on March 14, 2013, after a month’s delay on Weekly Young Magazine. xxxHolic: Rei would undergo multiple hiatuses throughout its first serialisation, with 4 volumes currently listed under the title, the last of which was released from June 2016 to March 2017.
xxxHolic: Rei brings back Yuko, the Space-Time Witch, who had died in the ending of the original xxxHolic, and her wily assistant Kimihiro Watanuki as they resume their relationship managing a mysterious shop where wishes are granted for a price. Although everything seems to have gone back to normal for Watanuki, a great secret is waiting to be discovered, and it all seems to depend on a choice Watanuki had made; a choice that he can’t even remember.
So far, there’s no confirmation on whether xxxHolic: Rei will have a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly release schedule.
CLAMP is a well-regarded and celebrated creative group consisting of four members: Igarashi Satsuki, Okawa Nanase, Nekoi, and Mokona. The group first entered the manga scene in 1989 with the debut work RG VEDA, which was released in the third issue of South (Shinsokan).

Besides manga, CLAMP would also provide original character designs for anime titles like Code Geass and Cardfight!! Vanguard.
