Senku and his friends are now sailing toward the United States as a first step towards his goal of visiting the moon.
Dr. Stone is arguably one of the most popular anime series of recent years, mostly due to its unique setting. Taking place in a world where every human was suddenly petrified after being hit by a mysterious ray, Senku Ishigami de-petrifies 3700 years later. After seeing how everything humanity built over the years has been destroyed, Senku promises to rebuild society using his scientific knowledge. But even with the help of his friends and some unlikely allies, Senku’s journey has been everything but peaceful.
The 4th and final season of the anime, titled Dr. Stone: Science Future, will start airing on Thursday, January 9, 2025. International fans will be able to stream the episodes on both Crunchyroll and Netflix. It’s rumoured that the concluding season of the show will be split into three cours, each handling a different part of the story until the protagonist eventually makes it to the moon. Senku and his friends are also set to face the most threatening villain they’ve ever met- the Why-Man.
The previous season ended on a happy note, as we saw Senku successfully regenerate Tsukasa by first petrifying him with the Medusa and then reviving him with the fluid. Senku now plans to start a space program and land on the moon. But he still hasn’t strayed from his mission to de-petrify as many humans as possible. In the next arc, he will travel to the United States in search of sweetcorn, which contains one of the main ingredients used in the revival fluid. Fans are excited as another scientific antagonist named Dr. Xeno is waiting for him on the other side.
