The children’s animated film Tabekko Donbotsu is set to premiere on 1 May, 2025.
The upcoming Tabekko Donbotsu has revealed additional cast members ahead of its May 2025 screening. The children’s anime film also revealed a synopsis, and is set to bring viewers into the magical Sweets Land.
Tabekko Donbotsu additional cast and plot summary
As per a report by ComicNatalie, the additional cast members include Oono Riria as Pero, who’s described as a gluttonous girl who joins the Tabekko animals in their adventures; Seki Tomokazu as Gotchan, a foul-mouthed cotton candy who joins Lion-kun; Otsuka Akio as Professor McCarron, a professor from Sweets Land university who lives with Pero; and Otsuka Yoshitada as King Gotton, an evil giant cotton candy who is also the antagonist of the movie.
Tabekko Donbotsu’s story will focus on Sweets Land, a world described as one where humans and candy live together in harmony, and where the Tabekko Animals are extremely popular as a super idol group. One day, Pegasus-chan, who is a friend of the Tabekko animals, is captured by the Cotton Candy Army, led by the evil King Gotton who wants to take over the world and exterminate all sweets except cotton candy. The Tabekko Animals, with Pero and the rest, set off on an adventure to thwart King Gotton’s plans and save Pegasus-chan in a bid to save the world.
“Tabekko Donbotsu THE MOVIE” is set to release on 1 May, 2025, and will be fully 3D CG. The movie is directed by Takekiyohito, and written by Ikeda Tetsuhiro, while Kotaro Sudo is credited for planning and producing. Riko Koarai is creative producer, and the music is done by Gin Hashiba, while Chikako Yokota is sound director, and Masato Ui is animation producer. The CG is supervised by Yosuke. The movie is produced by MARZA ANIMATION PLANET INC. Previously announced cast members include:
