Crayon Shin-chan’s latest film brings the protagonist and his friends to India

The anime film will open in August 2025.

One of the most popular anime franchises of the world is going abroad for its next adventure. The upcoming Crayon Shin-chan the Movie: Super Magnificent! Scorching Kasukabe Dancers will take place in India, with Shinnosuke and his friends travelling to this faraway land. This is the 32nd movie in the 2D film franchise. A new trailer and visual has been revealed on the official website and X (formerly Twitter) account of the anime. Most importantly, it was announced that the film will be released on Friday, 8 August, 2025.

The Crayon Shin-chan anime series is extremely popular in India, with many children having grown up watching dubbed versions of it. This is the first time a movie from this franchise will take place in the country The upcoming film stars:

  • Yumiko Kobayashi as Shinnosuke Nohara
  • Miki Narahashi as Misae Nohara
  • Toshiyuki Morikawa as Hiroshi Nohara
  • Satomi Kōrogi as Himawari Nohara
  • Mari Mashiba as Shiro and Toru Kazama
  • Tamao Hayashi as Nene Sakurada 
  • Teiyû Ichiryûsai as Masao Sato
  • Chie Sato as Bo Suzuki

Masakazu Hashimoto, known for his work in several other Shin-chan movies, is directing this film. Kimiko Ueno is in charge of script writing. Shin-Ei Animation is animating the upcoming movie.

With its 8 August release date, the new trailer has also revealed some details about the film. Shinnosuke and his whole gang, including his family and headmaster, are travelling to India. The group enjoys the different types of food and culture offered by the country. However, things go awry when they find an ancient artifact which negatively affects Bo-chan, turning him into an evil enemy Shinnosuke will have to defeat. This movie will also be dance-themed, which is a first in this franchise. The new visual for the film shows Shin-chan and his friends dancing while the scheming Bo-chan looks at them from afar.

The Crayon Shin-chan anime series is based on the original manga by Yoshito Usui, which started back in 1990. The anime, which began in 1992, is still ongoing with well over 2000 episodes. The show has been dubbed into 30 languages and streamed in 45 countries across the world. Due to its popularity in the country, Indian fans are eager to see what Shinnosuke and his friends get up-to in the upcoming movie.
