This will be the final season of the popular anime.
After almost five years, the Fire Force anime is finally coming back with its third and final season. It was announced during the IGN Fan Fest 2025 stream on 27 February. The final season will be split in two cours, with the first one premiering in Japan on 4 April, 2025, while the second is set to air sometime in January 2026. The official X (formerly Twitter) and YouTube accounts of the anime have released a second official trailer for global audiences.
Fire Force Season 3 cast and staff
All voice actors from season 1 and 2 are returning to their roles in Fire Force season 3. It will also be produced by David Production, much like the previous seasons. Yuki Yase directed the first season with Tatsuma Minamikawa taking over the second one. Minamikawa will also be making a return as Season 3 director and series composer. Character design will be done by Hideyuki Morioka while Sei Tsuguta is in charge of the scripts and series composition.
The new trailer has also revealed a brand new opening theme song ‘Tsuyobi’ performed by Queen Bee. Both cours of Fire Force season 3 will be released on Crunchyroll as they come out. Unfortunately, we don’t know whether the platform will simulcast the English-dub of the series or whether it’ll be airing at a different date. You can watch the first two seasons of Fire Force in both Japanese and English dubs on Crunchyroll.
Fire Force Season 3 story and other details
The latest trailer of Fire Force was presented by Gakuto Kajiwara, the voice actor for protagonist Shinra Kusakabe, at the IGN Fan Fest 2025. He commented that both the comedy and action aspects of the series have been cranked up to the max for the final season. Fans are also hyped as the trailer is filled with some incredible animation and action sequences. Based on Atsushi Ohkubo’s manga, the anime will reach its end with the third season.
The story of Fire Force takes place in a world where most of humanity has been wiped out due to a worldwide fire calamity. Only Tokyo city remains mostly unharmed, with people taking refuge there. Shinra Kusakabe, a third-gen pyrokinetic, joins the esteemed Fire Force to counter the increasing numbers of pyrokinetic monsters around the city. The third season will conclude the manga’s Stigma Arc, which was left unfinished by the end of season 2. Then it will move on to the Obi’s Rescue Arc, where the Fire Force members will battle their own allies to free their Captain Obi from jail.
