Two new cast members were also revealed for the anime.
The fantasy anime series From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman finally revealed its release date in a brand new visual. The series also released a new trailer a few days ago, which included performances from the voice actors who have joined the cast. The recent announcement also included two new voice actors who will play important characters in the series. Most importantly, the official website and X (formerly Twitter) account of the anime announced that the series will premier on 6 April, 2025.

The anime is being produced by Passione and Harabusa Film. Akio Kazumi is the director while Kunihiki Okada is in charge of the scripts. Satsuki Hayasaka is both the character designer and chief animation director. Yasuharu Takanashi is the music composer for the series. The ending theme song ‘Alright!!!’ is being performed by rock band FLOW.
From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman story and other details
The anime is based on the light novel series named From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman: My Hotshot Disciples Are All Grown Up Now and They Won't Leave Me Alone by Shigeru Sagazaki. It is illustrated by Tetsuhiro Nabeshima. It also has a manga adaptation by Kazuki Sato. The novel series is licensed in English by J-Novel and the manga is licensed by Yen Press.
The story of this series revolves around a retired sword instructor named Beryl Gardinant who lives in the countryside and runs his own dojo. But his peaceful life is destroyed when one of his former students sends him a letter. Beryl learns that he has been appointed as the instructor of the knights of the Liberion Order. He has to agree, although he doesn’t understand why as all his successful students are clearly extremely powerful and don’t need his help anymore. The old man now has to prove his worth as an instructor and also deal with the immense love his students have for him.
