The five-episode anthology anime MIRU has revealed the synopsis of each episode, alongside cast announcements.
The official X (formerly Twitter) account for the anthology anime series MIRU: Paths to my Future has revealed the synopsis of each of the five episodes, as well as the main cast of characters and voice actors.
Episode 079, titled Stardust Memory, which is animated by studio LinQ and directed by Norio Kashima, will focus on a space janitor named Yoshimura. Urged to retire by his boss after 10 years of collecting space debris, Yoshimura is set to be replaced by a young pilot named Umi, whom he trains. Umi is motivated and takes her training seriously, as opposed to Yoshimura’s unmotivated demeanour. However, a critical emergency pushes the duo to new heights.

Episode 101, titled The King of the Forest, animated by TriF Studio and directed by Okamoto, will focus on a tour guide named Mario. Living in a tropical rainforest since he was a child, and now working as a tour guide, Mario’s world drastically changes when he stumbles upon an illegal gold mining site.

Episode 217, which is animated by SCOOTER FILMSxSHIROGUMI and directed by Tomohiro Kawamura, is titled Londonderry Air. The story focuses on Ame, who attends musical school to pursue her dream of becoming a professional pianist. While working at a construction site to pay for her tuition, her piano skills are noticed, leading to her being invited to participate in an AI demonstration experiment.

Episode 630, titled Re: MIRU, is animated by studio REIRS and directed by Naofumi Mishina. The episode will follow a young diplomat named Toshi, and is set in a world plagued by division, conflict, and worsening global warming. Toshi successfully brokers a peace negotiation, which only leads to its collapse, leading him to despair over the turn of events. However, an unremarkable middle-aged man comes to his rescue.

And last but not least, episode 926, titled Wait, I’ll Be There, which is animated by LARX and Studio HIBARI, and directed by Saori Nakashiki, focuses on a girl named Airu, as she traverses a frozen, post-apocalyptic world with her companion, Pochimaru. With a mission to travel the world while making flowers bloom with the use of a mystical magic sand, Airu and Pochimaru encounter a boy named Izumif who says he is from a distant future.

MIRU: Paths to my Future is set to broadcast in April 2025, though no official date has been confirmed as of yet.
