No dates, cast, or animation studio have been announced so far. The only thing confirmed is the character designer, Mai Okuma, who has already been involved in the light novel as the illustrator.

The Cat and the Dragon follows the story of a dragon raised by a cat. The dragon is a fire-breathing, human-hating creature known as “Uncle Wing” by the cats. Along the way, the dragon watches over many curious cats around the world, interacting with their owners or the environments around them. The experience affects the dragon in many ways.

Both The Cat and the Dragon's light novels and manga are published by Takarajimasha. The former currently spans seven printed volumes, and the latter spans ten volumes.
