From animation to choreography, these fights will need the utmost care while being animated.
There are some fights and battles in anime that fans still talk about and watch years after their initial release. For example, Naruto and Sasuke’s battle at the end of Shippuden, Goku vs. Vegeta in Dragon Ball, or the final battle in Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. However, there are some new series that are bringing in phenomenal battle scenes that fans can’t get enough of. Shows like Attack on Titan, Demon Slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen, and My Hero Academia are chock full of such fights. However, there are some iconic fights from recent manga series that fans are eagerly waiting to be animated. Once they do, these battles have the power to break the internet.
Chainsaw Man vs. Gun Devil (Chainsaw Man)

The Chainsaw Man anime, based on Tatsuki Fujimoto’s manga, is known for its gory, blood-filled battles. Thanks to MAPPA’s phenomenal animation, despite the destruction, the fights are well-executed and exciting to watch. In the manga, Denji’s battle against the Gun Devil has to be one of the most heartbreaking and terrible things that the protagonist ever faced. After killing thousands of people, the Gun Devil inhabited the body of Denji’s friend Aki, using him to attack his friends. Despite knowing that Aki isn’t responsible for any of it, Denji has to kill him after a brutal fight. We suggest fans sit with lots of tissues when the episode is finally animated.
Special mention: Denji’s fight against Reze, aka the bomb devil, is another exciting but heartbreaking fight that fans can look forward to. The Reze arc movie will be released sometime in 2025.
Okarun and Momo’s Group vs. the Kur aliens (Dandadan)

Yukinobu Tatsu’s Dandadan has redefined the action manga genre with its sharp art style and high-stakes battles. From the very beginning, the series is filled with action, as fans saw in the first season of the anime which came out in 2024. However, one of the best fights in the manga has to be the battle against the Kurs, a species of aliens who wanted to take over Earth. This was the first time the whole group, including Momo, Okarun, Aira, Jiji, Vamola, and Mr. Shrimp Mantis. The battle was visually stunning, with Momo’s group using their various supernatural abilities against the technologically advanced suits of the aliens. As one of the longest fights in the manga, this will likely span several episodes, and drive fans crazy if the animation is done right.
Special Mention: Although not as intense as the battle against the Kurs, one of the most bizarre fights of the manga is the one against the Music Room Portraits. Okarun and Aira faced off against the six tulpas who were born from people fearing the portraits of famous musicians in the music room. The strange yet dangerous battle helped Okarun improve his rhythm during fights, which he later used against the Evil Eye.
Deku vs. Shigaraki and AFO (My Hero Academia)

The final battle of the heroes against AFO and Shigaraki has already begun in the My Hero Academia anime. Since Kohei Horikoshi’s manga has already come to an end, fans already know that this will be the last fight to be animated in the final season of the show, coming out in Fall 2025. Although there were many great battles in the manga, this one, with its intensity, emotion, and destruction, has the potential to throw the entire fandom into disarray. People are excited to see Deku finally defeat the main antagonist of the series and bring about world peace.
Special Mention: Unfortunately, not many other battles are left to be animated from the manga. However, the heroes’ fights against the rest of AFO’s lackeys will also be a treat to watch when the anime comes out.
Gojo vs. Sukuna (Jujutsu Kaisen)

This fight already broke the internet once when it was happening in Gege Akutami’s manga. As two of the strongest characters in the whole series, fans read the immensely tense and pivotal battle play out with bated breaths. Although it ended in severe heartbreak, the fight left a lasting impression on many readers. With MAPPA’s fluid animation, the battle of the bests has the power to break the hearts of the series’s millions of fans.
Special Mention: One of the most satisfying battles in the JJK manga was the eradication of the Zenin clan by Maki Zenin. After her twin sister’s death, Maki was able to fully unlock her Heavenly Restrictions, giving her unimaginable power. After that, she killed everyone in the Zenin clan who did her and Mai wrong, including Ogi and Naoya Zenin. Brutal and gory, this fight will be a fan favourite when it’s animated.
Everyone vs. Muzan (Demon Slayer)

Thanks to Studio Ufotable’s phenomenal animation, Demon Slayer has become one of the most popular anime of all time. As you may already know, the final part of the series, known as the Infinity Castle Arc, will be released in the form of three movies instead of a series. The ultimate battle of the Hashira, Tanjiro and his friends vs. the demon king Kibutsuji Muzan is probably the most exciting yet gut-wrenching fight in Koyoharu Gotouge’s manga. With Muzan’s several transformations and many unfortunate deaths, the scene will be one of the most visually stunning fights in anime history.
Special Mention: Before they face off against the big bad final boss, the Demon Slayers have to take on the other Upper-Rank demons. The upcoming fights against characters like Douma and Akaza are no doubt phenomenal. However, this special mention will have to go to Muichiro, Genya, Sanemi, and Gyomei’s long and arduous struggle against Upper Moon One Kokushibo. Thanks to Kokushibo having both demonic powers and a breathing style, he was likely the most difficult enemy the slayers had to face. The battle, hard and heartbreaking, ended in a lot more bloodshed than fans have experienced.
